Translation function

We spent a lot of time translating text extracts when we're testing the documents in another language than English. Adding a translation function to DataSnipper will save time for testing the text, especially contracts and minutes. Could we match this option with Text Snip, or create a separate one to use after Text Snip?

It would be awesome if you can make a snip of documents in a foreign language and translate it to english (by default). For samples with evidence from other countries this could be very helpfull!

Cool suggestion! We have thought about this before, what sort of languages would be most useful for you?

Youssef Hounat: I encounter a lot of French and Spanish documents at my clients. But i also have clients with arabic or hebrew docs. I think Spanish and French are most common tho in international audits.

This is a cool idea, we could mabye have it as a translation snip where you configure your native language, and then when people need to translate something the default could be on "Detect Language", would you have any problems with using the translate function in excel for this? e.g. if you are translating sensitive client docs?
Andrii Kaftan (UA)
Youssef Hounat: Maybe we can translate the text without "Detect Language" and choose a language from the list manually to avoid leakage of client information, I mean sending outside or sharing with external sources. But if "Detect Language" does not affect it, then it can be left. On the basis of which translators will you expect the translation function could be used, I mean Google Translator or others?

Andrii Kaftan (UA): Hey Andrii, its a really good point, the information security is key. I would think the easiest to implement is the translation feature in excel directly although we would have to look into the security implications of this.

Youssef Hounat: Hello Youssef. Could you please tell about the stage of implementation of this idea? We hope that this option will improve the efficiency of our work.

Andrii Kaftan (UA): Hey Andrii, Thanks for flagging this, we are currently still researching the technical aspect of triggering the "Translate" function in excel so it will be something which takes a bit longer, in the meantime you still have the option to text snip information in a different language and then right click to use the translate function in excel!

Youssef Hounat: Thank you.

Youssef Hounat: Hi Yousef. Do you have any news about the development of the translation function?

Andrii Kaftan (UA): Hey Andrii, we are still looking into the feasability of incorporating a translation function in the tool, we will definitely let you know once it becomes a more concrete plan. In the meantime your current workaround would be to do a normal text snip and then right click and use Excel's native translation function. It is one extra click but i think it still helps you solve the problem.

Hi Andrii,
Thanks for your feedback. Which languages do you see most of documents?
